i do believe i have reviewed this somewhere else but if reviews are your motivation i wanted to 'stack the deck'. good beginning, quite interesting although why didn't the jewel fix her vocal cords? no matter, one can always overcome a challenge(handicap). there are many who have learned sigh language to communicate with deaf/mute friends/family...
interesting the way you have karama stumble upon her, and while he's visiting her mother he could stop by to see her... i have a few ASL books and workbooks, maybe he could spend time learning with her... getting to know her. intercept attcks on her person. gain her trust...

| Cool. I really like it so far. But u shud make the chapters longer ^^ hmm about kurama's name. I think it depends on what version u use. there's suuichi, shuuichi and loads of others. =D |

as for the spelling, some spell it as Shuuichi, others like yours, but stick to what you have already
