Kurama

Kurama lives as both Youko Kurama and Minamino Shuuichi. Living a life of two isn't easy.

Kurama first joined Yusuke after Yusuke accomplished his first mission as a spirit detective. He was to gather three of the stolen artifacts. When Yusuke had met Kurama, Kurama had told him that he would return his artifact after he used it for one thing. Yusuke didn't know why, but there was something that he trusted about Kurama so he allowed Kurama to leave it in his hands.

Apparently, Kurama wanted to use it to save his sick mother. He was risking his own life to save her. When Yusuke found that out, he refused to let Kurama die. Simply because he had died once, ang he knew what it was like to see a mother despairing over her lost child. He didn't want that to happen to Shiori. He had met her and he could tell they loved each other very much.

After that, Kurama was on Yusuke's good side and later on helped with Yusuke's missions. From there on began the growing relationships between the Rekai Tentai. Everyone became close friends and they fought side-by-side. There were times when they had their own individual fights but they respected each other no matter what their past is like.

Kurama had discovered his other half at the age nine.

Youko Kurama lived his life as a bandit thief before becoming 'Kurama'. He was a leader of a group of bandit theives. His partner that helped him lead the group was Yomi. On his independent thefts, he had his partner, Kuronue, to help him.

Youko is simply a beautiful kitsune. He is very strong and falls into the A-class ranking of youkai in Makai and the Spirit World. A-class being the highest ranking, proves that Youko isn't all talk because he never fails to win all his fights.

Because he 'died' doesn't mean he wasn't strong back then. Everyone makes mistakes and even dies. Youko was just caught and killed, but at last minute, he preformed a spell that released his soul. He set out to find a living body to inhabit. It had been Minamino Shiori's unborn child.

Youko was sealed in Kurama's form for fifteen years until the Dark Tournament. He was released in Kurama's fight with Urameshi. He had known Kurama's weakness, kindness and his love for his mother. He had used Kurama's kindness against him and died by the hands of Youko Kurama.

Of course the change wasn't permanent, but since that day, Youko was able to come out while Kurama lied within him. When he emerges, his own personality and apperance appears. There are times, though, it is youko's form, but Kurama's consicousness is dominant.

At the end of the series, Kurama was able to learn to control his and Youko's transformation without any potion. Together, they fight and win their battles. Kurama's strength originated from Youko, and without him, everyone's life would be different. Both Youko and Kurama made a difference in the series and are very important to the storyline.
